440C is a commonly used martensitic high quality stainless steel with the highest hardness of all stainless steel and heat resistant steel. Martensitic stainless steel, like ordinary stainless steel, has the property of hardening by quenching, so it can pass different mechanical properties from the principle grade and heat treatment conditions to the wide range.

3.Characteristic/Caratteristica:
1.It has high hardness and good high temperature dimensional stability.

4.Heat treatment/Trattamento termico:
1) Annealing, slow cooling at 800-920 ° C;
2) quenching, 1010 ~ 1070 ° C oil cooling;
3) Tempering, 100 ~ 180 ° C fast cooling.
Metallographic organization: The tissue is characterized by martensite type.
Delivery status: Generally delivered in heat treatment state, the type of heat treatment is indicated in the contract; if not specified, it is delivered in the state of no heat treatment.
